I cry because the nature of church leads me to meditate about things I generally do not think of.

I cry in church AND at the Last Jedi. They're different though. The Last Jedi makes me cry because of the kids growing up with only the "hope" of joining an intergenerational war (I think those are supposed to be uplifting parts, but when we basically live in the Empire....). Church makes me cry because it's about stripping away all the BS and being human. It's a good cathartic sort of crying.

No. People come together on the ways they feel vulnerable, connected and human and a judgy church lady shows up throwing stones.

This is a Religion forum. The Jedi poster was mocking OP, not supporting OP.

I’m the previews crybaby and I was not mocking OP at all. Btw, OP posted like over two weeks ago and the only people who responded were people like me who cry in other, non-church situations. Then some judgment biotch shows up, not to empathize with the feelings OP shared, but to shame the people who shared their own? That’s messed up.

Not all CHristians are like this, but it is typical of a type that assume their own superiority and rectitude and therefor the right and responsibility to criticize others who do not adequately keep the faith, in their opinion

Nah. It’s typical of a certain type that’s sick of not being able to conduct an adult conversation about religion. Agree with op that the Jedi poster was mocking religion.

I'm going to guess that its typical of a type that goes to Recent Topics to see what's interesting and pays no attention to the forum heading. I assume that's the majority of DCUM posters.

Plenty of places to have adult conversations about religion: try churches, temples, etc. And try not assuming the worst intentions of people, too.

Jedi is a religion. My goodness, could you be any more judgmental?

I cried when I watched the trailer for "I Can Only Imagine", because it was the song that was played at my brother's funeral.

LOL. I myself am known to cry during even *previews* at the movie theatre. They're so emotional sometimes!

This piece speaks to me. Church is where I feel vulnerable, connected, human. This is why I keep going.
