If you are OOB the DCPS immersion’s are all hard or impossible to get into for English-dominant children. I think Tyler is the one exception.

But most wouldn’t call it the “best.”

But with the lottery your chance is as good as anyone’s at one of the immersion charters.

I heard Cleveland is also heard to get into if you are English dominant OOB. We are at MV and are happy. But if you want to know for sure your kid can go to an immersion school, I'd move in bounds for Oyster or Powell.

Cleveland! The school overall has had problems, but the Spanish immersion side is A++++. Two kids in the program. Have been there 4 years and wouldn’t switch.

Don’t forget about Bruce Monroe. Same scores and demographics as Powell. It’s getting better slowly, but PK and K are good.

Yeah I'm not listing Oyster. I'm pretty aware of the obstacles there. And it's also a little bit farther than I want to commute

LAMB (scandal notwithstanding, the academic record is strong)

My kids went to LAMB and have been well prepared for middle and high school. So have their classmates from Oyster and YY.

What are the best language immersion schools? Coming from parents who have had their kids in them these schools?
