NP and have to disagree about the diapers. We used the pampers provided at the hospital but switched to bambo when we got home. Kid is now 2.5 and I have had exactly one leaking accident in her life. It was when we tried a different brand overnight. Never had a poop blow out either. Maybe we just got lucky. I recommend trying the better diapers.

Sibley gives you absolutely everything you need (and you take home bags and bags of stuff). I barely even used anything from my packed bag until it was time to go home.

In the hospital, the babies are dressed in a kimono top, diaper, swaddle and hat.

Yep, Sibley provides everything that the baby needs--shirt, swaddle, diapers, hats. The only thing I packed was a going-home outfit.

And my baby had crazy sensitive skin, and the Pampers at Sibley did not cause any problems. We ended up using the same brand and type at home.

I actually liked having a cute outfit for the baby to wear and a nicer blanket. The hat was unisex and I wished I had a girl one. We got a lot of visitors.

All you need is a going home outfit. Sibley gave me plenty of receiving blankets and long-sleeved kimono-style shirts (spitting up amniotic fluid is no joke!) and of course the hat. Using your own diapers will present a logistical challenge. My healthy full term baby was taken for at least two periods of time that I recall for a peds exam and a bath. They changed her diaper during those times. I had a vaginal delivery but was wiped out and in pain. The nurses changed DD a lot, and I was grateful. FWIW I haven't heard of a newborn with an allergic reaction to a diaper.

Sibley provides clothes until it's time to go home.

I ended up sending my husband home to pick up some socks for the baby. She was very good at kicking her way out of any non-nurse made swaddle and her toes got cold. Otherwise, just a going home outfit.

They just wear a little shirt and diaper. They only need a going home outfit.

+1. Plus they give the babies hats. Just bring something for the trip home - less laundry for you to carry home. If you're delivering soon, consider a carseat muff thing since the baby can't wear a coat in the carseat (and I have no idea how people wrestle newborns into coats anyway). I use my own diapers at home but it's easier to just use the Pampers they have there. The nurses change a lot of diapers and setting yourself up to have to remind them to use yours every time sounds annoying.

I liked having just a kimono shirt. It was easier to change diapers and she was always swaddled up so easy to keep warm.

We brought 1 pack of our own diapers. Pack 1-2 packs of wipes.

They use Pampers there, so I would start with those. Maybe bring the wipes just in case, but no need to start yourself with more restrictions than necessary. Congrats!

Hi- FTM packing the bag for a delivery at Sibley in a few weeks. I'm wondering if anyone knows if Sibley provides clothes, if they are any good/if you would recommend bringing your own and if we do bring our own if they have rules about what kind of clothes we can dress them in.

Also, we would like to use our own natural diapers and wipes because I have very sensitive skin and are worried the baby will also. Any recommendations on how many we should bring- we are trying not to over pack!
