That's what I'm wondering too. Are you hungry? Falling asleep? Or just bored?

Good question!

I think sometimes I’m hungry and sometimes I’m bored. Not an issue if falling asleep. Just looking for something I can eat/chug down while driving the kids around too.

I always have a large RTC filled with ice water. That's about as easy as it gets and doesn't create a bunch of waste. Lars bars are always in my purse for emergencies.

Teas or coffees. Herbal teas if caffeine affects your sleep.

Protein shakes if you need the calories.

I don't drink diet soda any more thanks to La Croix water.

V8, along with most juice, isn't really good for you. the nutrients are not bioavailable like they would be in actual vegetable.

I’ll look for the Premier ones.

Yes, some I've tried in the past have been chalky or taste too much like a fake sweetener. These were the first I've liked.

Even if your blood pressure is fine, I'm not sure you want to be drinking that much sodium on a regular basis. I like it but only drink it occasionally because I find it's not really a beverage that quenches my thirst due to the salt content and if I drink too much I feel kind of bloated and tired (and my blood pressure is not high to begin with). You're probably better off with water and a piece of fruit or water and some veggie sticks.

I’ve tried LaCroix because my co-worker swears by it, but I wasn’t a fan. Maybe it needs to grow on me?

But I’ll take other recommendations if you have them.

I drink a ton of regular water, but just looking for quick and easy options.

V8 has so much salt. I'd avoid those and the Stonyfield smoothies (most of those have so! much! sugar!)

Look for Premier Protein drinks. They sell them at Costco (and it's the best value) but they are also at Walmart, Target, Harris Teeter, etc. Each drink is pre-mixed with 30g of protein and only 1g of sugar. They don't taste gross or like fake sweetener either.

I started drinking these at around 3 or 3:30 to hold me until I got home. I'd test one out and drink it earlier before your commute rather that during your commute because the 30g of protein is filling. The first time I drank one, I think I did it at 4:30 and was still stuffed after I'd finished making dinner for my family. Of course, then I got hungry at around 8 that night.

I do one of these for breakfast along with some fruit or a piece of toast and I'm good until lunch. Then another in the afternoon. Just making those two changes last year helped me lose 45lbs.

The sodium in V8 is really high, and doesn't have the benefits of eating actual vegetables.

You're better off sticking with water in the car and increasing the amount of vegetables at lunch/dinner.

Like everyone, trying to do better.

Right now, I drink water, diet soda and those Stonyfield Yogurt smoothies.

I know diet soda is crap, and those Stonyfield smoothies are high in sugar.

What do people think about V8? I need something convenient for on my way home from work, or when I'm out waiting for the kids. Figure it's a good way to get in an extra serving of vegetables. Currently, my BP is fine, so not worried about the extra salt. Or, I can force myself to chug down the Low Sodium.

But, what else should I be concerned about? Any advice?

If it matters, I would do the 5.5 oz cans.
