Yeah that's a good move. You have way more problems than a thermostat hypocrite.

I 100% call out hypocrisy. I come from an open, loving family though. But I have decided that the older you get, the crazier.

It doesn't have to be a huge blow up to make a small point.

But also: it most likely would not have changed things.

This. I would have pointed it out, but not made a big thing about it.

It's rude. All of your family are rude. You can't fix low class.

What’s the point? Sounds like power plays run in the family. Be like Elsa and let it go.

Yes, I do. I would 100% call my parents out for acting like that. Why not? They don't get a pass for ridiculous behavior just because we happen to be related.

My dad says he keeps his house at 62 degrees. It's a very drafty old 2500 sq ft house, and maybe it's 62 degrees right above the furnace, but most of the house including the bedroom is definitely in the 50s. As far as Christmas in South Florida, my dad said it was unbearably hot but I can't confirm as I wasn't there.

How cold did your Dad keep it? How warm in Florida? They have been having a cold spell.

Not unless it's worth fighting over.

My 70 yo parents visited my 58 yo uncle who lives in a 6000 sq ft house in Fla. My dad has always been jealous of my uncle (his BIL). My dad launches into this story about how my uncle was too cheap to put on the AC on Christmas and it was unbearably hot. Meanwhile, my parents were too cheap to stay in a hotel, and they have plenty of money. The last time I visited my parents in the winter, my dad wouldn't turn up the heat, he was too cheap. I was concerned about my toddler's health because she was shivering. I turned the heat up, my dad turned it back down, repeat, repeat, then I decided never to visit my parents in the winter with small children again. I kept my mouth shut while my dad told the ridiculous Florida story, but I had to let it all out, so I decided to post on here instead.
