Actually, many people don't feel thirsty until they really need to drink. Early signs of thirst are often mistaken for hunger, so we eat when a glass of water would likely satisfy. A better indicator for hydration is to notice the color of your urine. It should be pale yellow to clear in properly hydrated people.
