They should have activated a text reminder to check the bus list instead of just emailing. It should also have included a reminder that if the bus is more than ten minutes later to call your parents/go back home.

I am surprised that no parents were at the stop to make the kid get in the car and warm up. We usually have a neighborhood text chain where one parent will grab all the kids in cases like this.

ETA- I just checked the list and the 30-minutes-late bus route was not listed. That's not a complete list of delayed routes.

It is a snowball effect.

My kid was monitoring the website, and he said one of our middle school busses seemed to break down mid route and was delayed half way through.

My ds takes an FCPS bus to a special ed school that shares a bus stop and pickup time with another middle school. There was a poor kid standing out there in just a sweatshirt 30 minutes after the normal pick up time!

My high schooler's bus isn't listed, but he waited 20 to 25 minutes and it didn't show.

It seems like a lot of the busses listed as delayed are middle school busses that pick up before 7:00 AM.

I wonder if the list will grow as the busses make their second run for the elementary kids.

Wow!

I drove my kid to the bus stop so I could take him in if there was a delay. Fortunately the bus came on time. There was a freshman who came up in a hoodie only, no gloves or hat.

Made me happy my kid is no longer a middle schooler or freshman. He no longer cares about being too cool to bundle up. He opened the front door, came back for a coat, then asked for my gloves in the car. Baby steps, lol.

Well over 50 bus delays, mostly breakdowns. Kids waiting such a long time in the cold.

I wish today was a teacher workday and we went back on Wednesday. Would have been willing to be in school until 12/20 to go back later after new years
