Yes. I was the one who posted the above suggestion for the MSI K program. DS went from that program to an MSI team (school based) in 1st and 2nd. He moved to a more competitive environment in 3rd. We felt MSI was a convenient, fun, low-cost start and didn’t in any way interfere with his ability to play more competive soccer later. His current club has programs for kids as young as K but it is very expensive.

We are definitely in MSI family and have been for over a decade.
MSI truly is an amazing organization. I feel thankful to have it as a local option. My husband played in MSI as a kids and all 3 of our kids did as well. Eventually a really good player will need more than what MSI can offer, but it's a great and very affordable place to start.

For kindergarten, it'll be in the spring, on Saturdays, 4 weeks skills and fun, 4 weeks of games. Teams start in first grade, again organized by school, so practices are nearby. Soccer Bugs and Michael & Sons (the coaches are usually good, but the facility is very dirty). Or Germantown SoccerPlex.

If you are in Takoma Park or Silver Spring, most families are involved in Takoma Soccer at that age. It's a massive program, but very friendly and often whole teams are made up of classmates.

Where do you live. Upper moco there is SAM soccer at the Discovery Sportsplex and it is an awesome community feel. We run into neighbors/friends every Saturday at the plex

I have a kindergartener who is interested in playing soccer in the spring. I'm looking at options and it's overwhelming. We'd like him to learn some basics and most importantly have fun (not looking for early tracking to a super competitive program).
