I'm 50 lbs overweight and it is making me crazy (part of it is a medicine I'm on). I started walking in the summer and, if anything, it has made me feel better. Just start slowly. Walk around your neighborhood. When I first started it took me an hour to go two miles. Now I zip around and had to add time.
I think my plan is to add in weight watchers, and probably join a gym. I love walking outside, but I can't stand the cold.

Shameful plug as DH is coauthor....but can attest that he has kept the weight off for years. It’s a daily struggle and it took time but it’s sustainable. Basically the premise is weigh yourself everyday and let that be your guide. Some people have a tougher time but one has to accept that and commit to eating the right amount. What you eat doesn’t matter as much for weight management. (Though a balanced healthy diet is advised.)
Sounds like a good book of practical advice. I just reserved it at the Montgomery County library, where I am already third on the list, and it doesn't publish until Jan. 2. Sorry your husband won't get a royalty, but I have to slim down my finances as well as myself.
