Go knock on the door/walk in the bathroom and tell him HIS parents are waiting for him. I can understand them waiting -- who starts Christmas dinner with their own child in the house but not at the table?? Chances are he figured that dinner would be at usual dinner time and a long shower was his way of getting away from you/having to entertain his parents.

What the hell is he DOING in there? I'd have gone in and told him "Dinner is ready now; your parents want to wait for you to join us before eating. Can you be out there in five?"

and we’re all waiting on DH to get out of the shower. Seriously, I was mashing the potatoes when the shower started.
We’re hosting his parents, and they want to wait from him to finish before we eat.
He just disappear, didn’t ask how long to dinner or anything and the shower started 40 mins ago.
