Would it be better if it ended the Friday before?

Why don’t you wait for the snow days before you get too worried about a Wednesday dismissal.

Because some of us have jobs?

And you have six months' notice that you'll need to work out childcare for those two days. It's not like they're springing this on you the day before.

Yes, OP, it's annoying. And for me, it's an extremely busy time at work and my co-parent is likely to be deployed. Hopefully my boss is ok with me teleworking those two days, but that has its downsides too.

For those not understanding the problem, it's not that difficult to find 5-day camps for the normal weeks of summer. (as long as you can pay $400 a week and sign up in January.) It's quite difficult to find something for just that 2 day period, and it would be prohibitively expensive to sign up for a 5-day camp and only use two days.

Those of you who smugly equate school to "child care" or pat yourself on the back for being above these things can go F yourselves. The rest of us have responsibilities and schedules like this are a pain.

Oh right. School = childcare

I'd explain those pesky things called work schedules but I think your years of sitting in your PJs until 10 while watching Kathy Lee has made your brain...mush.

Don't get too cocky. The rest of us have figured out childcare for our kids. Not sure why it's so hard for you.

Please enlighten us about this great affordable two-day child care arrangement that is enrolling now that you've found?

Or perhaps there's a great two-day camp all of them could enroll in? Please do share this great solution you have for those of us without nannies, au pairs, or in-town-relatives-who-love-to-babysit.

You forgot "...and work"

Are you one of those special SAHMs that also have a nanny? You know that no one respects you, right? They all talk sh*t about how lazy and spoiled you are. You might think the other moms are your friends but they are grossed out by your presence.

It’s been Friday for the past 7 years I have had elementary school kids. Calendar shows 6/20 as last day.

And MS last day is Tuesday June 19th.
