They said the child was with the stranger for an hour. This is terrifying!
Anonymous wrote:This is the weirdest ever. A 3 year old didn't know they were leaving with the wrong person? The adult (says it was supposedly his niece he was getting, not his kid) didn't interact with the child at all, or enough to know? WTF?

Anonymous wrote:I haven't read the article yet but I have worked in prek classrooms and when an uncle or grandma or aunt or whoever comes to pick up the kid and the teacher/para/sub doesn't recognize them, 8/10 the adult is rude and annoyed when asked for an ID.
The staff member totally messed up and there is no excuse for this but I just wanted to share my experience. You'd think all caregivers would be glad to show ID to keep up safe practices but people are so mean about it.

Anonymous wrote:Scary story in the Post today (sorry can't link) about how a 3 yr old was given to the wrong person at pickup. The article suggested they mixed up kids because of bulky winter clothes. It worked out ok here, but it could have had tragic consequences. Hardly inspires confidence in the school.
