I took my daughter and a friend to Sephora. My daughter's makeover was powder, a light blush, mascara, and a tinted lip gloss or balm. She felt like a million bucks and was completely age appropriate.

On a side note, in case someone didn't know, makeovers are usually free, but it's customary to buy something. Even just a tinted lip gloss.

It's not illegal to walk away without paying anything, though. Not unless a fee was agreed on up front.

when we went the salesperson specifically asked me, “Do you want a natural look?”. I said yes. At each step she looked to me for approval. She recommended a tinted moisturizer for DD and did a very natural blush, eyes and lips.

The first counter I went to was Origins, which was nice because the colors and stuff weren't too much

My mom took me to the Clinique counter when I was 17.
And now, 20 years later, it's still my brand. Love Clinique.

blue Mercury. Make an appointment and tell them ahead of time it is for a teen, and you want someone who's going to teach them, and take it easy on the makeup.

Just say she'd like to start wearing some makeup and would like some help choosing products and learning how to apply them.

Clinique. They have good, straightforward products that are packaged/marketed simply to enhance your natural beauty, not give you "BEDROOM EYEZ" or anything like that.

Clinique. Their make-up isn't too heavy, and they did a great job finding colors that looked good/natural.

We went to the Clinique counter at the mall. It was a great intro to makeup for my DD. I also have found the salespeople at Blue Mercury helpful for myself although haven’t brought DD.

Sephora

In Rockville area but willing to travel a little ways. Best place to teach them to apply and try out some makeups. Specific names of salespeople if you've been happy with them, too. Thanks!
