Assuming your nose isn't Covid-wrecked, you can figure this out for yourselves. Open it. Smell it. Taste it. If it smells/tastes off, trash it. If the container shows signs of damage (bulging, broken seals, popped lids), or if the product looks different than usual (cloudy, off-color), these may also indicate spoilage.

But, seriously, we used to get along fine without dates, and the dates don't magically protect your food against spoilage. If it's off, don't eat it, even if it says it's technically not expired yet. If it's "expired" and that's literally the only thing wrong with it, it's probably fine.

Yes, absolutely. Now if it was 4630523401905105TX then you should throw it away and only handle it with tongs.

Yeah. This helped me to decide not to drink my lemonade. The best by date was September 4. It's now December 28. I just ate some mandarin oranges that expired in October. They tasted bad. So I just ate the one bite.

Dear OP - if it hasn't been opened, smells and tastes okay, it's 'probably" okay - particularly because it's acidic.

I just realized I had an unopened hug of simply lemonade hidden in the back of the fridge. The date is September 06. I was shocked it had such an early date. We don't normally buy that kind, but I guess it's more like OJ than the Kirkland or natures promise lemonade that is not refrigerated.

I have to toss, right? Maybe it will turn into limoncello if I keep it longer.
