Both are wonderful cities. But, as others have said SF's weather would be much more agreeable

San Francisco. I was in Vancouver in mid-October and it was already below 40 and rained all day every day. Unless you’re dying for cold and precipitation, don’t go.

Weather in Vancouver will be crappy. Weather here in the Bay Area is beautiful (cold nights) and no rain in the forecast until after Christmas at least. No brainer.
