But streaming through an Alexa disallows exploration of the internet that handing a kid an iPod allows. Not OP, but can't you still ask Alexa questions like, "What's in the news today?" I also have a 9 yo, and I wouldn't be keen on him asking that and hearing, "Al Franken announced he will be resigned after multiple women accused him of sexual harassment" or "North Korea launched an intercontinental ballistic missile today that experts believe would be capable of reaching Washington, D.C."
