The boy consumes about 40oz and girl about 30oz of Organic Horizon Milk with DHA Omega 3 every day. Half a gallon costs about $4.89
We recently switch over to Myenberg goat milk and they both love it because it has more calcium and better digestion than cow milk. The issue is that 32 oz of Myenberg goat milk goes for $3.54, almost twice the cost of Horizon milk. It means that my grocery bill will go up by almost 2x. To make the matter worse, now both want to eat goat cheese instead of cow cheese.
should I tell both of them to cut back on the milk from 40oz to 20oz for the boy and 30oz to 15oz for the girl?
1!5 and 14 years old is old enough to understand that mom has a budget.
It's old enough to understand you don't always get what you want. Wanting goat cheese doesn't mean you get it.
It's old enough to understand that getting what you want might mean sacrificing something else. So maybe they get the goat cheese, but they don't get the hummus.
