If this is appealing but you are looking for something with a robust children's program, you might check out Cedar Lane UU Church.

We visited recently when we were looking at churches. This church was fantastic - one of the friendliest congregations we visited (and we have visited tons). The church service had great music (contemporary), communion (and the congregation did a little service project together after taking communion - put together little care packages for a local children's hospital) so I loved the service element and the sermon was Biblical and very well thought out. The pastor did a great job and tugged on my heart strings a bit - I was very impressed.

The only thing I didn't like was that they didn't have many school-aged kids and we really want a good kids' program. I do think it's on the progressive side which I do not think of as "Christian-lite" and feel like progressives are way more Biblical in following Jesus' teachings to care for others and love others as you love yourself so I had no issues with that.

Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a church.

They are non-denominational Christians. They do communion --- every Sunday. but they are definitely Christian-lite. More lite than Episcopalians who are more into ritual.

They sound like a pretty nice bunch to me. Nothing wrong with trying to be nice -- sounds like something Jesus would do.

Here's the link: https://www.churchinbethesda.com Next time try using quotation marks.

It sounds very liberal: "The Church in Bethesda (CiB) is a multi-denominational community of worship that offers a warm, inclusive welcome to everyone. We seek to grow in faith and love with all people, no matter where they are on the journey of life and faith."
