Nobody gives two hoots about NHS. My son's high school didn't even have a NHS chapter and he's at Stanford.

Neither did my son. In fact he refused to join despite gpa and community service done. Guess that means no honor cords at graduation. I don’t think he cares. I’m glad it doesn’t seem
Like it matters much.

Nope. Practically every student is in NHS these days so colleges don't really see that as a major accomplishment. It's nice to have but definitely won't hurt you if you don't include it. Unless she was significantly involved in the groups (held a position, lead a significant project, etc.) then it really doesn't matter.

My kid didn't either and he got into several top schools. If she had 10 other activities that are more important to her than that's fine.

No, she shouldn't bother.

And it is too late now, anyway.

Really. Unless she was seriously into the organization with a leadership role, all membership says is her grades were good, and they already know that.

OP: IE should she alert school that she was a member?

My darling daughter did not include National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society in her 10 activities in Common AP for EA application. Is this a mistake? She truthfully didn't think they were that extraordinary.
