Subject: Any other women out there with a lover 20+ years younger?
OP here. Ha, sorry, I agree the word "lover" is stupid but I can't think of another that fits the situation. He's not my boyfriend or partner or significant other …
I don't have notable self esteem issues. I was married for a long time to a classic D.C. type and we're still friendly and coparenting teens. I'm having a wonderful time with my male friend and just take this day by day.
fwiw, he's 29, a professional I met through work. I imagine he'll split off at some point and follow the script of wife/kids/mortgage, and I'll be OK with that when it happens, as long as he's respectful about it.

My mom is 15 years older than my stepdad and has been married to him for almost 30 years.
They married when he was 40 and he was 25. Sounds crazy but somehow it works. They run a successful business together and have their entire marriage.

One of my friends is 48 and she's seriously dating a 32 year old who she met at the gym. She's in phenominal shape for her age and the guy didn't realize she was that much older until he happened to see her high school yearbook on her shelf. He's ok with it.

I am male, and I don't think it's a big deal. It sounds like he is enjoying his fwb relationship. The age difference might actually make you feel "safe" to him since there is little expectation that you will pressure him into an LTR or marriage. You also probably appreciate his looks and physique in a way that someone his age wouldn't be able to, until they are old themselves.
It sounds like he is in his late-20s. If he was under 21, I'd say it's creepy, but a late-20s guy can make his own decisions.

I'm a male but I had a lover that was 20 years older when I was in my 20's. She was a lot of fun for a while. I thought it was a FWB deal, but she started wanting to get serious. Divorced with 3 kids. she got married young and one of her kids was only 10 years younger than me. No thanks

It's creepy and gross but I suspect you have serious low self esteem and have been abused in the past.
