I have cheapo Kohl's blackout curtains that don't block the light. I added thermal liners which did the trick.

We swear by the white blackout shades from Next Day Blinds. They are the first things we have put up when we move into a new house.

I have a set of white blackout curtains that I basically pinned in as a liner to a set of yellow curtains. Although some light gets around the edges because of how the curtain rod is mounted, they do a very good job of blocking the light.

Basically, unless you have a top treatment (cornice) and double panels mounted inside and outside, there is no such thing as blackout. But PB "blackout" should do a good job at room darkening if hung correctly. I have some from Amazon that work well too.

I'm going to be the dissenter. We have navy blue PBK curtains in DS's room and white ones in DDs room. The navy blue ones work 100x better in my opinion. I would call the white ones "room darkening" rather than blackout. Also - these are the drapes and we have to have shades on the windows too, otherwise the light coming in from the sides would be really bright.

Yup! I had some in my kid's room for the exact same reason. They were layered over a cellular shade (which didn't block light well at all) and made the room very dark. I got super cheap ones off of Amazon. They had kind of a stupid sheen on them, but they made the brightest room in our house very dark. Best money I've ever spent. Wish I did it sooner!

The PBK ones absolutely do. They're the best. I have them in DS's room. In DD's room I cheaped out because I wanted a specific white curtain and bought separate blackout liners and they are NOT the same.

If they have true blackout lining, they should block the light. We have white roman shades w blackout lining that work well

7month old refuses to nap. At wit’s end. I’m looking at blackout curtains on PBK and wondering if white blackout panel curtains can actually do the job or if I just need to get navy/dark gray ones to make it worth it. Anyone have white or very light colored ones in their nursery that truly darken the room?
