I greatly appreciate your perspective. My son will not be coming into the area until after the current school year finishes, so this is good information.

I've found that school baseball programs - where they exist - don't start until 7th grade, sometimes 8th.

I don't know any elementary schools with programs.

No schools that I know of have baseball within the school. Instead, kids play on neighborhood teams. We are in Arlington and kids there can play for Arlington Babe Ruth or Arlington Little League. Usually, the school the child attends favors one or the other (my sons' elementary uses Arlington Babe Ruth). Most travel tryouts are in the summer anyway after the season is over, so he'll have time to play spring baseball and figure out if he wants to try out for travel.

Moving to the area and my son currently participates in travel baseball (11U). We are not interested in having him play on a travel team immediately, but rather give him time to acclimate to the new environment. Finding a school with a baseball program will definitely peak his interests. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
