We have had an amazing experience with District Vet in Brookland and they now have an office in Eastern Market. Judging by their Yelp reviews, others have had a similar experience. I have found their prices to be reasonable and for things like vaccinations we just make an appointment with a vet tech. My dog once needed stitches and I was shocked at how little it cost. The vets were also very responsive by email when my dog was having ongoing issues but I didn't want to keep bringing her in. I never thought I could feel so strongly about a vet but I recommend them to everyone.

I go to Dupont Vet Clinic. I like it but it's definitely not cheap, and parking around there is a pain.

We go to a vet in Germantown. Not cheap but not ridiculous prices either. They always give us an estimate upfront, with options if something is really expensive.

Consumer Checkbook ranks vets for quality and price plus you can see individual comments. A subscription is not expensive.

For those in DC - who do you use as a vet and how do you feel about their prices. I loved my vet, but the lady we saw left. Today, we had a negative experience when it came to them considering budget.
