Sometimes local book stores will host them. Public libraries. Meetup. Or just Google "your location book club."

Years ago I started one on a meet up mom's group and we met at my house every other month. I thought once a month was too often for me. Other people didn't want to host for various reason and at the time I didn't like to drive so it worked

Now I've seen people start them in local FB groups.

My book club disbanded when most of us had newborns but when active we had a yahoo group and people would find us that way. It was always interesting having someone new find us and join the meetings. Our yahoo group listing was pretty specific (ages/meeting locations).

I've also seen people posting looking for book clubs on my neighborhood list serve. You could try that route, too.

Where do you live, OP? you can find monthly book clubs at your local library - I think the Bethesda libraries have a regular book club and a mystery one.

Also look on the notice boards at bookshops as sometimes people will post there about book clubs.

Late 30's female looking for a book club to join. I tried to start one with friends a while ago, but everyone else was too busy and couldn't commit. So where do I find one to join that will be welcoming to newcomers/strangers?
