My 5 months old puppy has always done this, occasionally, not all the time - I feel 's connecting and saying: "Hey isn't this moment great!", because he's a happy dog.

She does this because she loves you and is paying attention to you and wants to you pay attention to her. Not rocket science.

Sounds like rooting behavior in an infant animal. Is she thirsty or hungry?

My goldendoodle puppy did this when she started to get tired of a too long walk and wanted me to carry her. She is almost 6 months now and no longer bumps me but I also do not walk her more than she can handle.

How is her eyesight? My blind dog does to check where I am.

Accept it as a gesture of friendship. Dogs are pack animals & are always touching each other to communicate.

I think either wanting to connect with you, or wanting to play.

My labradoodle does this too! It was really annoying when she had her spay surgery and had the cone. Ouch!

Why does my puppy bump the back of my leg with her nose when we are walking? I have a Labradoodle and when I walk anywhere in the house, she follows me and periodically gently bumps her nose to my calf. The only thing I can think of is that this is maybe herding behavior, but she is not part shepherd. What’s going on? It’s cute but also driving me slightly nuts!
