A special dinner to celebrate voting for first time?!! Oy. This has to be a troll pulling our leg.

My 18 yr. old son (HS senior) will be voting tomorrow. No plans to celebrate, though it'll be kind of fun to go to the polling place with him.

I gave my young friend yellow roses the first time she voted. They were a symbol of the suffragists.

My daughter turns 18 on November 10th, poor thing.

Why poor thing? My birthday is also Nov 10. Granted Im much older than almost-18. She shares a bday w the USMC, Sinbad and Martin Luther!

I think she meant poor thing bc she just misses being able to vote this year.

My friend birthday is on November 5th......... She missed the 2008 election by one day

That happened to me back in 2008.

That's nice but I never heard of it.

I voted for the first time in college (I turned 18 the fall of freshman year).

I think that’s awesome. The first time I voted was absentee from college. Have fun!

Do you take your 18 year old's DC someplace special after they vote for the first time? MY DS voted for the first time last year and we took him to his favorite place which is Chipotle. MY DD will vote for the first time tomorrow and we would take her out to eat somewhere. Are we the only one's doing this tradition or is it common?
