I am 43 years old with no family history of breast cancer and was diagnosed with it earlier this year. In my early/mid 30s we went through 9 fresh IVF cycles and 1 frozen at the highest dose of stims possible because my ovaries were so lazy.
I have asked every doctor in my treatment plan if there is a correlation between the fertility drugs and my cancer and they all have told me "no." (I was told to immediately stop BCP when I was diagnosed because I have estrogen + cancer so I don't need to add more estrogen with BCPs so it gives me pause that there isn't any connection). They all say that years ago women were on much higher doses of stims and studies didn't find a correlation between the two.
I don't regret how many cycles we did because we have 3 great kids as a results but I still wonder even though the doctors tell me no.
I did three IVF cycles, and was diagnosed with stage 0 breast cancer earlier this year. My sister, who never had or tried for kids, had stage 2 breast cancer last year. I believe the studies that there is no correlation.
