If she would have introduced you as her boyfriend at the party, it would have meant that it is a bonafide emotional relationship and that would have made you freak out. When a man introduces a woman as his girlfriend it does not mean a bonafide relationship but only means that they are exclusive in having sex with each other.
This. I wouldn't introduce someone as my boyfriend unless we had talked and made it official.
