OP here and it wasn’t keratin or Brazilian blowout. Didn’t have to leave in for days or wash and redo.

I don't know what it is called, but it is not keratin. After application, it is "sealed in" with heat, with a hot iron (which is part of the styling anyway). I love the results - hair is looking very healthy!

I get a blow dry but never hot iron. Is that really "part of the styling"? I have straight hair.

Its a keratin or brazilian. If you have straight hair its probably not needed. I have very curly hair and it helped a lot with the frizzing and cuts down on blowing time. The flat iron is part of the process.

Ah, ok. If I paid that much for keratin I would expect that to be part of the styling.

Its part of the process, not styling. Different formula's have different processes. I had to leave mine in a few days. I really like it. OP didn't pay that much for it.

Anonymous wrote:$120? how long is it supposed to last? I'm curious.

It depends on the brand and formula but anywhere from 1-3/4 months. I called the company of the brand used on my hair and because I relax it they said to only do it every 6 months but is also because it was the stronger formula.

Its a Keratin or Brazilian blow out depending on which brand you used. You either have to wait 2-3 days to wash it or they do a blow, flat iron and then wash it out and do it again. Its a long process. Where did you get it done for $120. That is really cheap. I just had it done and it was twice that. It is wonderful. I absolutely love mine.

I wouldn't. I also can't stand it when I ask them to add a tip and then they say " well what about Larla the shampoo girl?"

Well, fuck Larla the shampoo girl, she can ask for it out of the 20% I already added to teh damn bill. Sick and tired of everyone with their hand out.

LOL. Ok. I just started coloring my hair a few months ago (greys) and I guess I still have sticker shock over the expense of it all. It seemed kind of ridiculous to me that the tip amount doubled for adding a treatment that took an extra 2 minutes. To me, the tip is for the work/time and this was like tipping for product.

I recently got a root touch up, cut and blow dry at my fav salon. While sitting in my color, my stylist talked up a new protein treatment that boosts the health of your hair - I said yes, do it. This treatment was just an application of product to my hair, not adding time or work to my visit, but added $120 to my total bill - grand total over $300. Should I tip 20% of the total, when the $120 was really just for product?
