Asked as someone pulling the lever for Northam next week. I don't want Gillespie to be governor for a whole host of policy reasons, but I don't think he's got some connection to the Trump collusion with Russia mess.

Hi. I’m the lawyer. Gave to Ed because I worked with him during the Bush Administration years and think he’d be a good and reasonable leader as Governor. Have never asked a client who I should support, nor have I ever asked a candidate who I should represent. In the last race my spouse and I supported a Democrat, Justin Fairfax, in the AG primary race because he used to work at my firm. I tend to support Republicans, she tends to support Democrats. So what we have here is (i) Republican operatives live near each other in Virginia, (ii) they likely met 20 years ago, (iii) they were quoted in the same newspaper article 20 years ago (!!), and (iv) a rich lawyer who represented Manafort donated to Gillespie's campaign.
