Bored with sex with the same person, even if it's good. Sex with a new person becomes increasingly appealing even if it's not as good. It's new, and that trumps good.

Monogamy is hard and we question whether this is the one we are willing to sacrifice for. Or, we are cheating or about to. Also, what PP said about avoiding an awkward breakup

As a man..

- We really don't want to be tied down to one woman or for the long term. By getting tied down, we feel like we lost something.

- However, we have to because biology is catching up and everyone else is hitched

- we think it's better to hold out for a better one than know that the one we are with is it.

- Growing up, we don't dream about our wedding gowns or where it will be. We dream about harems. Getting hitched shatters all those dreams.

Agree, he's likely catching his breath and thinking about will this be a LTR. Don't start asking what's wrong or come across as being needy.

I agree as well

"Rubber band" effect. Read some John Gray. Seriously, I understood men so much better after reading his books.

I can think of three reasons:

1. He had a change of heart about you for some reason. Maybe you said or did something that changed how he perceives you.

2. He found someone else and wants to break things off rather than cheat.

3. He doesn't want an LTR.

Dating for a few months, getting pretty serious, everything is going well, and suddenly you need "space." You're still exclusive and see each other, but the pace changes. Why?
