I was buying a car, paying cash. They ran a credit check, in case I didn't want to wait till I bring the cashier's check to drive the car out from the dealership. It had no impact on my credit.
I would cancel the card, I don't like "store" cards.

I would cancel the card and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Hi,

Had a contracting company come out for windows. They had a good financing deal and said they needed to see if I would be approved for the financing. I said fine but did not end up purchasing the windows. Shady process all around but I digress. Anyway, I just got a credit card from the company that they said they were checking to see if I was approved by. I was told they were checking to see if I would be approved, not opening an account. I just got the card today and the "approval check" was done on 10/13/17. What should I do? Should I just leave the card as is, there will be no payments on it becuase I didn't purchase the windows. Or should I call the company and cancel the card? I have good credit, about 770 currently, and have 5 credit cards (including this new one 6). I pay in full every month, no balance and have a 20 yr credit history. Which will be better for my credit rating?

TIA
