We swaddled our son from 6 days old and he transitioned out of the swaddle completely by 5 months with no problem all. I think every baby is different, just do a trial run every week or so and before you know it your baby will be fine without it. Don't sweat the small stuff. A sleep sack and a zipadee are close enough.

But now that she's 6 mos I'd like to put her in just a sleep sac--it would give her more freedom to move and would also be easier for daycare, etc. So I've tried just putting her down in a sleep sac for naps but she cries and takes forever to fall asleep and then sleeps 20 min and is awake crying again. With the zipadee she naps very well. I tried when she was 5 mos and it didn't work so I put her back in the zipadee and now I'm trying again at 6 mos and it's not any better. I think she likes chewing on the fabric covering her hands. Anyone have issues with the transition out of the zipadee? Any tips that work well?
