Eagle & Empire Game & Hobby Shop in the Belle View shopping center in Alexandria has lots of die cast models, although a lot of their inventory is WWI & WWII-related.

Hobbyworks in Fairfax also has a ton of models and supplies.

You are talking about those mini figurines that they paint? Kind of like tin soldier, but Star Wars, Dragons, Star Trek, etc?

If that is what you are looking for, there is a shop somewhere out towards Fair Oaks (I think near the Corner Bakery).

There are also two shops in Springfield. One on Liosdale and one on Bland Street (Curio Cavern and Games Workshop).

I had a nephew in town over the summer and he wanted to visit those kinds of shops.

I think if you google fantasy games miniatures then you will get a couple of local options.

maybe look into wooden models like planes or buildings....as an option. or even boats.

Hobby Works in rockville Md

DS would like to start a new hobby of building diecast models (Star Wars vehicles etc.) Is there a hobby store best known for such toys to browse around in DC Metro area? He's doing his research on Amazon but I'd like an alternative.
