Looks like he knows his stuff, but no one cannot predictably score perfect every time. Just plan ahead to have him take it twice. With super scoring he is likely to get a 33-35 composite. Congrats... bright kid.

Those scores are xlnt. My DC has cumulative 34 including writing. HE wanted to improve so we paid for testing and he did get a 36. But some students will drop, so there is a risk. With those scores, he should be offered some scholarships at LACs who will pay for those test scores.

He has had six 90 minute sessions with the tutor and homework each time which lasts about an hour.

With a 0.25 point net gain, and given the high score to begin with, I wouldn't bother with a tutor for this student. He clearly knows the material very well and has no apparent weakness. He's not a robot and isn't going to get a 34 to 36 on each section every time. Just have him continue to do practice tests.

So my DS just had his second mock test and his results were flat.

Breakdown:

English: 34 - 36
Math: 32 - 34
Reading: 33 - 32
Science: 33 - 30
Composite: 33 - 33

Happy with improvement in English and Math. Not sure what happened in science!! Need to discuss further with tutor, but DS says today when he worked on a new science section with tutor he got a perfect score. He also worked on strategy for different types of science questions.

Any insight from those of you experienced with this test? My hope is that he can maintain his gains in the other sections and improve science and get a 34 or 35 in the test. I don't think it is time to find a new tutor because of the improvement in the other areas...right?
