I'm not a male, but fairly certain guys who think like this will be having affairs and/or divorced by 45. Looking at women as goods to be had, they'll think it's perfectly reasonable to browse and sample other products to see what they're missing.

I remember mostly taking a pass on late-20s guys when I was that age. I could read or hear this kind of stupidity behind their words or actions, but I don't recall it being spoken aloud like this.

These guys are probably your contemporaries. And don’t have much of a world view.

In all likelihood you are a catch! You are hitting your stride, confident and are going to be seriously pursued. You might want to expand your age range if you have one (not enough to be odd), but you start attracting lots of attention.

The only person who ever said that to me - when I was in my early 30s and hadn't yet met the guy I am now married to - is now unhappily divorced.

People tend to say things like this when they are young and convinced that they have life figured out.

While it's true that, as you age, the dating pool for women shrinks a bit faster than it does for men, there are tons of single men over 30.

Women over 30 are not damaged good. However, it is true that post 30 the pool of available men slowly begins to shrink as more and more exit the dating market.

But you only need one.

Many people think like that, and this decreases your pool of available men as you get older.

HOWEVER, had you married any one of these men who think like this when you were younger, would you have been happier?

So actually it doesn't make much of a difference, does it?
