Dreamforce does take over the city but it’s in September not November

Dreamforce. The hotels near the convention center will all be booked up. SF is geographically very small, so since all the nearby hotels will be booked, that means pretty much all hotels in the city will be booked.

I just rebooked our tickets and shifted everything one day earlier (thank you, Southwest, for the flexibility!) .. can't justify spending all that money on a hotel that's less than half the price all the other nights.

I would pick a different weekend if possible. All of the good restaurants and bars have had reservations booked for months. There are sponsored HH and dinners all over town. Honestly it's a mess there during Dreamforce.

Think again. 170k last year and Salesforce is predicting much there will be more this year. Also, OP said prices are up not that all rooms are booked.

Will be going to San Francisco in early November, hotels that are $200ish in October and the first few days of November are $700+ between November 5th and November 9th.. and then they go back down in price. Is there a special reason for this? I noticed there is a Marathon on the 5th..but that doesn't explain the high prices for the rest of the week.
