I just rebooked our tickets and shifted everything one day earlier (thank you, Southwest, for the flexibility!) .. can't justify spending all that money on a hotel that's less than half the price all the other nights.

Think again. 170k last year and Salesforce is predicting much there will be more this year. Also, OP said prices are up not that all rooms are booked.
