I am 33 and my brother is 24. We have a group chat with our parents where we text several times a week. I used to call him once every week but he’s been in a committed relationship for the past 2 years and now they live together, so he rarely returns my calls. He says to call his gf if anything is urgent, but thankfully I did not need it. I am kind of sad that I don’t have a close connection with him anymore, but understand that he might perceive my interest in his life as meddling, so I try not to bug him.

I have 6 siblings and we are on a constant text chain.

I'm 33 FTM. Youngest of 3. I talked to,my sister everyday through text. Call her maybe 3xs a week. My brother I text but I get a reply 2 days later. Both have 2 kids each and the kids have activities to do after school/weekend

No siblings.

My DH talks to his sister via text maybe a few times per month. Phone - extremely rare. We see her maybe 1 or 2 times per year.

My parents have both been estranged from their siblings are various points. My dad now talks to his siblings probably weekly (not all of them but at least one of them). My mom sees her sister maybe once per year, and they do not talk (the children arrange gatherings and they show up).

I am an only with an only. Whenever I question whether or not I am sad about not giving my child the "gift" of a sibling, I take stock of the closeness and joy some people feel as a result of sibling relationships, as well as the ambivalence, and also the hardship and grief and complications that sibling relationships cause. It's a total wash, and I am not regretful.

I have one brother. We text every few weeks and talk by phone rarely. I see him several times a year when I visit my parents in the same area. I text and Facebook with his wife every few days (she's lovely!) My teenage children text with him and his wife regularly.

I talk to my brother every couple of days via text - he lives in Boston. We see each other a few times a year.

I have one brother who I very rarely talk to. We have nothing in common and his wife is a psychopath. The last time he called me was to bitch at me for using our points for a plane ticket for my 19 year old nephew to go work for my cousin for the summer so he could actually make some money. SIL was making up all this crap about nephew being mentally unstable (because he wasn’t letting her control him) and how they’d lose insurance/benefits if nephew made too much money—all lies.

My other brother is 11 years younger and lived about 30 minutes away until recently so we would hang out pretty regularly—they just moved a couple hours away for his wife’s job. We don’t really talk on the phone but we text and post funny stuff on each other’s FB pages.

I'm 50 years old. My sisters are 47 and 42. I talk to them every day, usually several times a day. We are extremely close.

I text with my younger brother and sister at least weekly if not more often. We Skype or talk on the phone from time to time-- it really depends on everyone's work schedules, which do not often align. I would say an average of monthly but sometimes it's more and sometimes less. They live in another state so I only get to see them 2-3 x per year unfortunately. I would still say we are close. I am 36, they are 32 and 28.

It depends. Sometimes we talk/text more than other times. Depends on what is going on.

About the kids in the family? Probably a few times a week.

Not about the kids? Once a week or so, maybe every other week.

My siblings (3 of them) tend to be very judgey and love dishing out unsolicited advice, problematizing me as a distraction from themselves and their own issues. So I choose not to be close to them and keep things fairly superficial.

One brother who lives abroad. We message every other day or so (give or take) and talk once a week.

I have a brother who is two years younger and lives on the other side of the country. We talk on the phone maybe once every other year or so (only when something big happens, like one of us is expecting a child) and I visit them 1-2 times/year. They never visit me. My parents live in the city as them, or we wouldn't make it out there nearly as often.

I'm male and 49 yo. I have 2 brothers and a sister that I talk to maybe 2-3 times a year (all different states). We get along well - just distant, I guess. I kind of feel guilty that we don't talk or see each other very much. Just trying to get a feel for how normal (abnormal) we are.
