every time they come in, tell them you are swamped and have too much work to do. They will get it eventually.

I use these for someone that does this to me and I usually stand up and say something like the following to invite them out of my office:
I got to get this report down to Joe, do you want to walk with me
I was just about to grab a cup of coffee, do you want come with me
I need to copy these documents, do you want walk down the hall with me

Close your door. Or when he comes by just keep looking at your computer and only occassionally glance at him & mention how busy you are.

He stops by just to shoot the shit, with nothing meaningful to say.
The last time I saw him, he told me he had just recovered from a nasty flu and wasn't sick anymore, but I could hear him hacking out his lungs through our shared wall. Later that same afternoon, he stopped by my office and dropped his kleenex - gross!
Aside from being sick, I just don't like him very much. How do I get him to stop coming by?
