My sister had twin boys and then got pregnant again with another boy - kids are only 10 months apart and it was like having triplets.

It was really tough in some ways and relatively easy in other. All the milestones were reached by and large at the same time. The boys learnt from each other - both good and bad habits. They are great sleepers because having the company of 2 other siblings 24/7 used to tire them out mentally. They were easier to feed, easier to change, easier to put to bed, easier to take to the doctor, easier to potty train, started talking quite soon. They are very close, they have been able to spend their entire childhood together and with their parents.

The tough parts always revolved around sickness. Three sick kids are never fun. Thankfully, that did not happen very frequently. The kids are super close but they have distinct personalities. Also, my parents live close by and helped a lot with childcare. My sis and bil are fairly well off and they were able to outsource things at home as well as not worry about three kids going to college at the same time. I guess that can be a huge issue.

Ha! My first two are 13 months apart and then the third was 18 months behind. I had three under three for five months Best advice I ever got was "remember there will come a time when they both are crying and you'll only be able to deal with one -the other will have to cry for five minutes.". My second was a very good sleeper though as I NEVER had time to put him down properly. My older would start making noise - I'd go to check on them and the youngest would start - by the time I got back - he'd be asleep. He rolls with everything.

My perspective - with the first you learn how to deal with a baby, with the second you learn how to juggle and schedule - everyone after is easy. It will be tough for the first few years but those years are tough anyway - best thing is they are at the same stage -makes it easy to manage.

My mom and my uncle are 11 months apart. I can't say it was a walk in the park for my grandmother, since they were #2 and #3 (of an eventual 4 kids) and her husband was deployed, but to me they turned out great and I understand they were very close growing up. Congrats, OP!

My sister and I are a year and a day apart. Read Siblings Without Rivalry. It would have saved my mother a lot of heartache.

My first two are like this! It was shocking to find out I was pregnant. We loved it so much we went back for two more in rapid succession. They are upper elementary now and are the best of friends. it was easier being in my first trimester when my first was immobile than it was chasing around a toddler like my friends who had the traditional 2 year spread.

My cousin had this -- Irish twins that turned out to be real twins (so, Irish triplets, I guess?). They're only 2 & 3 but she's rolling with it like a champ. One had colic but other than that they're all great kids and they'll all grow up so close, it's kind of amazing to think about.

My brother and I are 12 months apart and we loved it. We're very close and have a lot of mutual friends to this day.
