Is a a procrastinator? I remember waiting until the deadlines loomed for mailing out my applications (no online process back in the day). The applications are a little time consuming but the essays are fairly straight forward and short. Once you've done one, the others come together pretty easy.
Maybe write down a list of deadlines for the schools he is interested in and give him the list. Sometimes it helps to see that you don't have as much time as you think you do.
Does he know what he wants to major in?

Lots of people are happy with it. And lots of other people have a motivation swing at some point in their lives: the go-getters decide to have a respectable but not dazzling career, the kids who drifted in high school suddenly find something that really captures them, and suddenly they've got the window office and are supervising former go-getters.

What is your concern with the rolling admission aps. Is he applying for spring semester?
Because I am type-A. And, if he gets them in soon, he gets answers soon (and sometimes probabilities decrease over time) and could lower the total number of applications he has to send.

The earlier you apply to a rolling admission school, the faster you receive an acceptance. Applying later to a rolling admission school---you might get shut out. Rolling admission is different than early decision.

+1. Same here, DC is taking it on himself to get this done. I made some comments on his application essay and he actually rejected them.
Lol. My son is the same way. He wrote an application essay, I asked to read it and I made some comments about it and he rejected my suggestions. I haven't seen any of the other essays.
He definitely wants to do this himself. And I guess he is more than capable of doing just that...
Our babies have definitely grown up (sniff!).

My kid has been working on applications for the past month. He has known which schools he wants to apply to for a while now. Now it's just a matter of filling out the online forms and submitting essays and resumes. So far he hasn't asked dh and I for much input or help.

Just looking for some perspective and wondering how other families are weathering these weeks before application deadlines.
