DH's family says grocery instead of grocery store. Like, "I'm stopping at the grocery on the way home". So pretentious.

Not exactly pretentious (as in upper class), but not my down to earth people either:

Referring to "cheer camp."
"During dh's residency, we were so poor" while also mentioning the new shoes from Nordstrom rack.

Just kidding. I guess it sounded pretentious.

So this.

I had a moment where the nanny was off and I was complaining about how I'd get everything done until I realized I sounded like an assh0le. And also complaining about how $$$ any fixes were on the Porsche or the Audio. Ass. Hole.

I'm probably just missing something, but what's wrong with this one? I thought it was the correct phrase.

Talk about where they "summer" not go on vacation

I could go on but you get the drift....

Agreed all say "I am in the know of what's cool" and makes me run for the hills, especially the summer as a very and "half a second" how ridiculous!

Retail therapy is just a trash saying from the 80s. Half-second is a regionalism like New York Minute or a hot second. Summer instead of vacation is just a regionalism.

Nothing pretentious to me. But retail therapy is just stupid.
