A few days ago. I don't expect immediate replies at all. I totally get that people are busy. She doesn't work.

Who the hell wants to compose such a response in text?
Also, not everyone is glued to their phone and finds text a critical form of communication.

Get a life and grow up. You are annoying AF.

This. Lengthy questions involving background info, links, and multiple-sentense responses are not text-conducive (to me).

This friend lives far away from me and isn't a "phone type". She prefers text only.

Busy right now, or call you later, or text back soon.

People don't miss texts. The phones show unread messages.
I'm aware of every text, call, email I get.

People are just rude or dumb or both.

Thank you for understanding. This was in Whatsapp. Blue ticks mean the text was read and received. There are blue ticks.

I don't respond to texts sometimes. Know why? Because most people send texts when they are thinking about something, but they have no idea what the other person is occupied doing at that moment.

When I get texts at work (I teach), when I am cooking dinner, when I am driving, or when I am otherwise just in the middle of something I often read/see it, don't reply because I can't or because it's not safe (i.e. driving) then I forget about it.

Get over it and pick up the phone or send an email so your friend can respond on her own time. If you want her to do you a favor and give input, make it convenient for her.

Or they're out there actually living their lives instead of being obsessed with a piece of technology that demands they immediately be at everyone else's beck and call.

Yes, people miss texts. That text sounds like it needs a lengthy answer ... one she might need to talk to her sons about. Once it is opened, it falls down the list, she forgets about it and BOOM she forgets about it.

Ask again. Don't take offense.

You're really getting in a tizzy about A TEXT? maybe she missed it. Maybe it got buried under a bunch of other texts her kid was sending her from the mall. Maybe she read it, and thought the answer needed some more time, so put the question aside and forgot about it. Maybe her phone ran out of battery.

If you want the information, use your grown up fingers , dial, Call and ask her "hey Larla, you know I'm considering doing my Masters. How did you and your boys find your experience at Duluth Uni?"

I can't believe you're a grown woman stressing over a text.

So you've applied and been accepted to a university, but you need your friend to tell you about what her sons think of it?

You're an adult. You can make this decision on your own. You can visit the school and read about it. You don't need the perspective of some 20-year old undergrads.

You sound needy. Take care of yourself. Stop trying to engage with someone who isn't reciprocating.

While she doesn't sound like the best friend , a response to your text isn't a simple "it was great". Maybe she wants to wait until she has time to talk.

But again, she doesn't sound like a great friend so why waste time and energy on her?

I sent this friend a text asking about her opinions of a university because her two sons have attended there. I may be doing a master's degree there and wanted firsthand experiences. I have to make a decision soon. She totally ignored the text. This pisses me off because I am the only one in this "friendship" who has many much of any effort to stay in touch and I've done so much for her over the past two years, for her daughter, etc. She can't reply to a text?
