Assuming you and baby were medically cleared and by that I mean no prematurity and healed enough from the surgery I would go.
You and your baby will be fine

I would do it for my sister but not many other people.

you want to fly 6 weeks post c-section? I think that's a bad idea. The baby would be fine, I'd worry about you more (although I wasn't healed 6 weeks post vaginal birth, flying would have been out of the question).

CAn you do this? Our ped instructed us that the age-appropriate vaccines could be given late but not early. Our initial 4 month appointment was a day shy of baby's four-month birthday, and ped required us to change it to a week later. Maybe it depends on the practice.

No, but I am cautious that way. I get sick every time I fly. Always an upper respiratory issue.

If run of the mill illness and potential flu season don't worry you, and baby has had vaccines, then maybe. (Of course baby can't get the flu shot until 6 months.) I had a really tough physical recovery with #1 that would have precluded flying at 6 weeks. With #2 my physical recovery was easy but baby had bad jaundice followed by feeding and weight issues until we got her on Zantac at 10 weeks. Weeks 4 to 10 were very stressful. I would not have wanted to fly then. So I guess just be mindful of possible last-minute changes, including perhaps buying trip insurance in case you wind up needing to cancel.

I would probably do it and hope for an early flu season. If it is a late one that is really bad, I might reconsider.

Also, chicken pox is back and spring is chicken pox season.

Move the vaccines up a week and yes. That age is a dream to fly.

What time of year? Probably not Dec-Feb when flu season really ramps up.

I would, but that's because I've done it. I also have super healthy children, and have never dealt with a life-threatening illness, so maybe I'm being cavalier.

+1

I am 4 weeks post c section and feel fine to fly, and the baby sleeps all the time so that is perfect. Agree I'd want shots though.

Yep!!! I flew with my 7 week old and it was a dream (way better than any flight for the next two years...). She nursed during takeoff and landing and slept nearly the whole time. She wasn't a loud crier yet and her little cries (very few) were drowned out by the plane noise. She fit well on the changing table in the bathroom too.

Hi all,

Around 7 weeks after my c-section, my sister is getting married across the country. Given that everything will be ok with me and baby, would you fly with little one?

I flew before with my older one when he was 2.5 months and had no issues.
