Nowadays “storyselling for financial advisors” is a big search trend. I found a book with that title but I doubt that’s what people in the industry are looking for. My guess would be that they are after high net worth clients with yet another “modern technique”. Truth be told, storyselling is just a catchy name for good old storytelling that Financial Advisors so rarely master completely.

As a pretty active parent, I am not shy about stating preferences if I have a strong opinion. This year I specifically asked that my child NOT get one of the four teachers in the grade because I knew that we would have a big conflict with that teacher. The previous year, I did not make any requests at all. If you are active at the school, you get to know the teachers and their style and will likely have a preference based on your experiences with them. I am also not shy to tell other parents to talk to the Principal if they are unhappy with the teacher assignments and request that their child be moved if there is a valid concern.

The squeaky wheel often gets the grease and the active parents often speak up about teacher preferences. I think that happens to some extent at all schools.

There has been big changes in the school staffing....teachers moved to different grades, teachers leaving and new teachers coming in....but I think it is all for the best.

Spellman. The Principal has been making big changes the past few years and I feel like it has really paid off. Teachers that were not suited for their positions or were burnt out got shifted around. Unfortunately we lost a great teacher to MoCo due to the craziness of PGCPS.

Kids had a great day, thanks for asking. Son didn't get the teacher he wanted and his besties are in a different class but I've heard good things about his teacher and I think it will be an opportunity to focus on additional friendships.
