It would be a ridiculous workload. I only have experience with Eastern, but i can't imagine adding 3 additional magnet classes. Way too much work.

Please pay close attention to the MS and HS magnet reform this semester, MCPS will make changes to respond to the suggestions made by the "Choice program study" . The report never looked into the needs of the magnet students. The entire report is on how to balance the student body in the magnet program. If you want to have a full magnet MSAnd HS program which provide adequet classes for the students, please let MCPS know.

At clemente anyways there would not be enough periods to do all the MSCS and humanities magnet classes.

Please ask Smith and the BOE about the Magnet specialization for Middle School - I think they're starting to rejigger the MS Magnets for next year. I doubt they're thinking about a major restructuring like that, but perhaps they should be.

Or replace the current humanities and math/sci magnets with an everything magnet? The school is already over capacity.

I grew up elsewhere and our junior high and high school magnets offered magnet classes each year in Math, Science, Social Studies, and English. Students could pick how many/what kind of magnet classes they wanted each year. To stay in the program you had to take at least 1 magnet course each year. (There were also GPA requirements). I hate that they make our kids specialize so young.

We skipped the middle school magnets altogether because we couldn't decide.

Is it possible for a magnet student in "Mathematics, Science, Computer Science" taking the same classes as magnet students for "Humanities and Communication" ? It seems impossible for TPMS because the magnet for "Humanities and Communication" is at Eastern.
