Marhsall. Best advising in IB program all around (highest rate of diploma applicants actually making it to diploma), their results on IB tests are also highest in county. Excellent leadership, school body is wonderfully supportive. Racial/SES make-up of a Chantilly with results of a Madison, the school does an outstanding job serving its student body. Of course, if racial/SES diversity scares you, you have the recommendations above.

We were in the Marshall district in Vienna and it was a PITA to get to Marshall on the other side of Tysons. I know some people in our old neighborhood hope the area will eventually get redistricted to Madison, which is closer and has a better community feel.

So, yeah, if work commute isn't an issue, Robinson.

Choose which neighborhood suits your commute best. If you live away from the community, it is more difficult to participate in activities, make friends, etc.
I find the choice a little odd because they are not close to one another.

Incorrect. Robinson offers a very small handful of AP classes, in math and history only. It is primarily an IB school.

In addition to the IB program, Marshall has a governors STEM academy (computer science, networking, cyber security and a variety of other courses).

I would choose Marshall for that reason, and for the lively Tysons area around it, as opposed to the bland suburbs of Burke.

If you knew you were interested in the IB program and had to choose between one of these two schools, which would you choose and why? Any clear advantages to one or the other?
