Is your version of utopia a place where one is not afforded a defense, where only the wealthy have that privilege? Don't worry. You're pretty much getting your wish already, given the way public defenders are being defunded across the country. Most public defenders are so overwhelmed by their case loads that they can't provide adequate legal defenses. Jails are becoming the repository for the poor and mentally ill. I'm sure you're rejoicing in that fact, you animal. Taking care of the poor and the unwell is also part of what it means to be a community.
