OP here. Right, that's why I am asking. I've looked quite a bit in the Annapolis area and this home seems to be priced really well for there.

I actually moved from DC to AA county 6 years ago. Yes, the commute is long. No doubt. But plenty of people do it. And many people do want a big house in a nice area with good schools and easy accessibility to DC, Baltimore, Annapolis, Eastern Shore, etc. It is a very nice place to live. This house is actually priced well for this area. Other houses that size and with that kind of high end interior go for much more.

That is like asking. Why are houses in Frederick so cheap? Because of how far out it is. That is the answer. The commute is hell.

I don't mind the house, but it's clearly cheaper than a house you'd find closer in because it's pretty darn far. If you worked in DC and lived in that house, you'd spend your life in the car.

It's far. The school districts are just OK. It was probably a tract home...

it is in Anne Arundel County which is a county away from the beltway.

A. that's not cheap.
B. It's somewhere no one recognizes.
