OP here, Does he need a nap when he joins ECCB, the afternoon session? My son will be 2 years and 4 months by this September. He definitely needs a nap, so i dont think he can take the afternoon session.

yeah, that was tough. He was definitely still napping when he started. We tried adjusting the nap time but ended up putting him to bed at night later, getting him up later and letting him have a 1 hour nap after he came home. After a couple months, he gave up the nap completely. We didn't have a choice which session to put him in. The non-cat classroom was only in the afternoon.

I wanted a preschool placement and they actually took my preference/thoughts into account. It helped that my son had been kicked out of a regular preschool earlier that year.

OP here, can i ask why was your son kicked out from the regular preschool?

He had a pretty significant speech delay and struggled with transitions. The preschool was not willing to be flexible in any way to help (picture schedule, warnings, set routine, etc.). They said he either needed a one-on-one or could not come back.

In the jurisdictions I know about, child find preschool doesn't begin until age 3. At age 2, therapists would come to your child. Depending on jurisdiction, your child would need to be at least 25% behind in at least one domain.

What services a child qualifies for depends on the level of their disability, as well as the states' budget. All states have some version of Child Find, but some are more expansive than others.

A child would need to have a significant delay to qualify for services through child find. Private services are always best in addition to any service provided through child find.

Good morning moms. For those of you whose have kids in Child Find program, do you know how they identify our kids to levels of service? I mean how serious delay development of the kid is to get the preschool half day or full day or therapy only.
My 2 year old son is eligible for the program. I am waiting for the teacher 's call to schedule our next meeting to see which service he will get. He is currently in a regular preschool/daycare. Part of me want him to stay in this current preschool, another part of me hope he can join the preschool from Child Find.
